Nahant is a small New England coastal village (1.6
square miles) with a population of 3800. It is composed of two small
islands (Big Nahant & Little Nahant) connected to each other and to the
mainland by a mile-plus long causeway built on a natural tombolo (a
geological feature of New England's glacial past).
